Dragons: A Fantasy made real
Animal Planet/Darlow Smithson. Dir. Justin Hardy

Experience the magic of the mythical beast in this stunning depiction of what the world might have been like if dragons had indeed existed. Imagination reins supreme as the incredible possibility is examined to the fullest, using realistic dramatic recreation, superb computer animation, and even a life-like view of the creature's internal organs via extremely precise models. The senses are overwhelmed by fantasy in this truly spectacular exploration that unfolds on an epic scale.
Narrated by internationally acclaimed television and film star Patrick Stewart, the 90-minute Dragons: A Fantasy Made Real imagines dragons as real animals. It envisions how these mythical animals would have evolved into a number of different species through the ages and around the globe. Along the way it explores how each species would have been endowed with physical adaptations and behaviours specialized for its environment.
Jellyfish Pictures were chosen to make real the science behind the way dragons would have functioned from flying, to swallowing (with a real endoscopic view inside the dragons) to their ancestry. It all contributed to Emmy nominated visual effects. |
